HISTORY OF THE HOTEL JEWEL

In 1996, the year of healthcare reform, we launched our concept. At that time, good advice was expensive. Due to the health reform, there were no more guests at the Juwel, where only patients with health insurance had spent their spa stays until then.

A new concept for the jewel had to be found. We found the solution: “Traumschiffurlaub an Land”, a program similar to the one on the Traumschiff. The business idea exactly met the needs of guests in the 2nd half of life.

The corresponding conversion and advertising activities soon ensured a full house again. The concept has been continuously improved and one can say that the Juwel is unique in the German hotel landscape as a “senior club hotel”. Various awards, including from the Ministry of Economics, followed.

Since January 2015, Hotel Juwel belongs to the hotel group “Privathotels Dr. Lohbeck” and continues to successfully pursue the concept of an “all inclusive” hotel.
